Toxins or poisons are ever eager to enter our bodies—through our skin, our lungs or through food and beverage. To neutralise them, we have many highly capable organs—liver, lymph, kidneys, lungs and the immune system. But these warriors are just not equipped to neutralise synthetic chemicals and heavy metal contaminants that are of recent origin.
Exposure to car exhaust gifts us lead. Canned tuna fish gives us mercury while food additives are a rich source of toxic heavy metals like chromium, mercury, lead and cadmium. We merrily hydrogenate our edible oils unmindful of the fact that these are gifting us poisonous traces of aluminium and nickel. These destroy bone calcium and gradually promote bone cancer. Then there are pesticides, weedicides and herbicides.
The accumulation becomes faster and faster as we grow older. Our knuckles become enlarged, our heels develop calcium spurs and the muscle tissues and the vertebrae get calcium deposits which cause excruciating pain. Soon enough, the destructive toxins move from the bones to the brain where these are even more lethal.
While we have to be ever on guard against ingesting them, we should also take daily steps to neutralise those who still manage to sneak in. Lemon juice in water before breakfast is your best friend. Its negatively charged ions bond with positively charged metal molecules and neutralise them. Equally effective are juices of green leafy vegetables.
Strengthen your detoxifying organs by ensuring that 80% of your daily food intake comprises fruits, vegetables, smoothies and sprouts.
